Surfing outside the box.

Most of us look at our own limitations and decide we don't have what it takes to do something amazing. If you fall into that camp, check out this clip from the 2008 Quiksilver surf film Clay Marzo: Just Add Water:

Clay is one of the best surfers in the world, and he has Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism. Not exactly the lovable, pudgy Jerry from Boston Legal, is he?

We don't normally put autistic people and surfers in the same box, so take a minute to look at the box you've put yourself in and the box you'd like to be in.

Ready to change boxes?

  1. Thanks for reminding us all about how we limit ourselves. Clay Marzo is my new hero. He rips!Loved watching him surf. I posted this on Twitter, and a lady whose 19 year old son has Asperger's Syndrome just loved it. It made her day.
