The computer geeks over at Stanford University's BioMotion Lab have come up with some technology that's uber-beneficial for us fitness nerds.
Using 8 cameras and 2 very fancy computers, they record human movement and turn it into clinical data. In addition to using this data to prepare the human race for the Matrix, they can use it to analyze sports injuries and come up with more effective treatments.
I think this is great. I can't wait to get a couple hours on that contraption so I can use the data to help me with my breakdancing injuries.
My friend Dr. Marcus Elliot's human performance lab in Santa Barbara does this as well. It's fascinating stuff. Currently, he only trains elite athletes but we've been considering how to bring this technology to the masses.
