As long as I'm trashing soft drinks...

And now this from the BBC:

The US soft drinks industry says it has dramatically cut the number of high-calorie soft drinks sold in US schools as part of a drive to tackle obesity.

The American Beverage Association said shipments of full-calorie drinks to schools were down 95%.

Nearly one in three children and teenagers in the US are overweight or obese and health experts say sugary drinks are part of the problem.

So, um, I guess we're supposed to thank them? Um, thanks, I guess.

I'd also like to thank all the drug dealers who limit heroin sales at their local high schools. Very conscientious.

  1. Amen. It always cracks me up when 'they' pat themselves on the back for making something 'less worse'. Their whole business is predicated on the fact that they will contribute to obesity and poor nutrition. AND they spend billions on feel-good advertising. Whatever! Their products have no positive value whatsoever.

  2. LOL! Notice they only limited full-calorie ones. Chemicals have the thumbs-up.
